EA SPORTS NFL Matchup Show debuts this week prior to the first game of the NFL season with a new sponsor, EA SPORTS. Using Madden NFL 2004, the top North American sports videogame franchise from Electronic Arts that launched on August 11, hosts Suzy Kolber, Ron Jaworski, and Merril Hoge will give fans an in-depth look at the NFL by breaking down the X's and O's of pro football with Madden NFL 2004 footage.
Now entering its 10th season, no other NFL pregame show has exclusive access to the game like EA SPORTS NFL Matchup, produced at NFL FILMS. Each week Jaworski and Hoge spend countless hours viewing coaching footage and speaking to more than a dozen NFL head coaches. This access gives them a unique perspective, creating the foundation for the show's commentary.
EA SPORTS NFL Matchup airs four times every weekend starting Fridays throughout the regular NFL season and during the playoffs on ESPN and ESPN2. During the EA SPORTS analysis, Jaworski, and Hoge will talk strategy and match-ups using Madden NFL 2004. Viewers will also have the chance to email questions via www.easports.com to the hosts. Each week one question will be answered on air at the end of the show.
"We are very excited about the marriage of NFL Matchup and EA SPORTS," said Jaworski. "The graphics in Madden NFL 2004 are so realistic and in some ways it's better than watching the coaches video that I break down on a weekly basis."
Madden NFL 2004 is available in stores now on six platforms and has already sold through 2 million copies in the first three weeks since release. The Madden NFL franchise is in its 14th season with over 32 million copies sold. The franchise recently was unveiled for display at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the first videogame to receive this honor.
