“We heavily relied on Speed Tree for many of our missions, especially our early jungle levels,” said Brad Shuber, Airtight Production Art Lead.

“We were able to use SpeedTree in both large open level areas, where they could be viewed from any distance, and in small contained areas where detail was a major concern,” added Phillip Heckinger, Tech Art Lead at Airtight. “The level of motion in the foliage, which integrated with the levels wind settings, was beyond what could be achieved with a skeletal mesh while fitting in an efficient performance and memory footprint.”
